THE TRAIN

We are going camping in Southern Argentina, for a month, starting with a 27 hour train ride. in the picture, we are leaving Constitución Station (Buenos Aires). I am in the front, waring a red windbreaker. Martin is behind me, waring a beret, saying goodbye to his parents. The pictures is blurred – the train is pulling out.

TOGETHER AT HIS HOUSE

We are at Martin’s parents’ hoyse in Villa Vrespo, Buenos Aires. We are doing a timed self- portrait.

THE LAST PICTURE OF MARTIN

This is the last picture of Martin. He and his parentes are sailing the Lujan River, in the Paraná River Delta, in 1976.

Martín

I saw you
you were the same
but you were not

I dreamt you alive
and left
with your smile at the wheel
to wander
the dreams we had together

I touched you
but you were not

We ran companionable races
like before
on the road that went to the same place

I continued on, alone,
carrying your presence.

Marcelo

We could be photographers.
